You can’t call yourself a PC gamer if you’ve never heard of the gaming platform Steam. Developed by Valve Corporation, it’s a platform for game developers and publishers to sell their games. It’s also a place for gamers to manage their games and connect with friends.
Steam has been serving gamers for more than a decade, and recently they’ve released the list for the top-selling games of 2018. If you haven’t played these games, it’s time to top up your Steam Wallet with Digi prepaid and get your hands on them!
Here’s the list of the top games on Steam of 2018 in no particular order:
PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds (PUBG)
Fortnite isn’t the only battle royale game that got popular this year, in fact, PUBG exploded in popularity first in the battle royale genre before Fortnite.
The concept of the game is simple: up to 100 players parachute into the same map with nothing, search for weapons and gear, and fight to be the last one standing. Players can choose to play solo, duo or with a team up to four people.
Monster Hunter: World (MHW)
Ever since Capcom released the first Monster Hunter game on PlayStation 2, the action role-playing game has generated a loyal cult following. MHW is the first in the franchise to be available on PC, selling over 40 million units.
As the title of the game describes, players take the role of a monster hunter in the New World. Your goal is to hunt down monsters that roam in the beautiful ecosystem and level up your skills and weapons. You can choose hunt alone or play co-op with up to four players.
Far Cry 5 (FC5)
In FC5, you’re playing as a deputy sheriff sent to Hope County in Montana. Your duty? To arrest a leader of a militaristic doomsday cult.
Far Cry games may not have similar stories, but they share the same theme of surviving in an open environment against wild animals. Players can also expect outstanding graphics since Ubisoft develops it.
Assassin’s Creed Odyssey
Another game developed by Ubisoft, Assassin’s Creed Odyssey is the 11th major instalment in the Assassin’s Creed series. AC is famous for its stealth and parkour features, but ACO focuses more on its role-playing story element than previous games.
In this game, players get to choose to play as Alexios or Kassandra, a mercenary and a descendant of the Spartan king Leonidas I. The main storyline has the player attempting to restore their fractured family during the conflict between Athens and Sparta.
The games that made into this list are also some of the most played in 2018. Valve stated that these games had more than 15,000 players playing simultaneously at one point of the year.
